QNX
Home Up

I first heard of QNX on ZDTV (now TechTV).  Where they talked about the free demo that fits on a floppy.  I downloaded it and created the floppy and rebooted.  Hey, for an OS that fits on a floppy it was pretty nice.  Nice GUI, came with a web browser, text editor (like Notepad), a file manager, and network capabilities.

QNX is now available for download and you can install it on a windows partition under Windows or install it on its own partition if you download the 90Mb ISO image and burn a CD.  I have done both.  It seems to work very well, for a small lightweight OS.  It has a pleasant interface somewhat like BeOS but better hardware support.
